Event profs: out and about! Winter edition.

Back in July, we shared what our Bien Venue event profs had been up to over summer. With the end of 2019 drawing ever closer, we wanted to update you on what the second half of the year has held for us. Our team have been so busy travelling up and down the country – and beyond in many cases – that we can’t include every single trip in this round up. But below you’ll find our highlights!

Bien Venue in Belfast

Our Head of Sales, Zoe Costello, and Sales Executive, Kimberley Money headed to Belfast back in August for the C&IT Agency Forum. As well as networking with other event professionals, they were able to visit many impressive venues and sample some of the city’s excellent hospitality options. You can read more of Kim’s thoughts on Belfast in her blog here.

Zoe was then off to the MIA Connect Agent Day, a bit closer to home this time in Harrogate. This gathering of event profs is always good fun, with innovative team building activities alongside valuable networking and skill-sharing. Zoe also enjoyed an overnight stay and delicious evening meal at DoubleTree By Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa.

Seeing Southport

Early in September our Business Development Manager, Daniel Rankine, enjoyed a weekend to Southport courtesy of Bliss Hotels. His trip included an evening at the theatre, afternoon at the Pleasure Beach and a blissful stay all round!

In Westminster for the Parliamentary Review reception

In mid-September we were thrilled to announce Bien Venue’s involvement in the 2019-20 Parliamentary Review. Our Director, Sam Elliott, was invited to contribute to the publication as a Best Practice Representative. Along with our Client Director, Kerry Edwards, Sam travelled to Westminster for the review’s reception, where speakers included Andrew Neil, Kenneth Clarke and Julia Hartley Brewer. Read more here about Sam’s thoughts on best practice for event profs here.

Venues + Events Live

Up in Manchester, Bien Venue had a big presence at this year’s Venues + Events Live event. Of course we had a stand at the evening, but our Client Director and Head of Sales presented to fellow event profs and the wider industry about finding the perfect venue.

An event profs night out in Manchester with MacDonald Hotels!

Team BV enjoying dinner and Disco Bingo at MacDonald Hotel Manchester.

You know what they say: teams that play together, stay together! That’s why we were so happy to take up the generous invitation from our friends at the MacDonald Hotel Manchester. We enjoyed dinner, ‘disco bingo’ and an overnight stay courtesy of this excellent, centrally located property.

The thrill of the chase in Chester!

Not long after our group outing, our Head of Client Services, Richard, visited two more Macdonald hotels, this time in Chester. Richard spent a night at both MacDonald New Blossoms Hotel and MacDonald Portal Hotel Golf and Spa. He enjoyed afternoon tea at one and use of the spa facilities at the other, as well a trip to Chester Races!

Ljubljana is one of the most charming places I have ever been!

Jenna in Dublin!

Also in October our Venue Consultant, Jenna Statham, was in Dublin visiting venues in the beautiful Irish capital. She stayed at Aloft Dublin Centre, which has a room service robot, and was also lucky enough be one of the first to see the new Moxy Hotels’ Dublin City property ahead of its opening. “It’s a modern, fun and affordable hotel!” says Jenna.

Before catching her flight back she was also hosted for lunch at Radisson Blu Dublin Airport. Here she was really impressed with the bright, spacious meeting spaces on offer!

Alpine Slovenia

To round off October’s trips, we were back in Slovenia! This time Head of Sales, Zoe Costello, was off to the Alpine region, where she discovered beautiful scenery, charming towns and delicious food! Zoe’s trip will also feature in our forthcoming blog.
